My 2022 Art Portfolio
My theme or "Sustained Investigation" was titled, "The Surrealist Mindscape". I sought to explore thought processes and abstract human ideas through the usage of multi media pieces. I scored a 5. Here they are.

This was a warm-up in my senior year art class and I completed it in just under an hour. It shows a mental breakdown through the usage of primary color chaos and half-finished drawings and thoughts. Ironically, I'm not sure where this piece ended up but I found one of the bag's handles in my car's trunk last week...
"Lillian Monroe fell from the light house last night."
This was one of two pieces that compromised the "Lost Souls" series of shadow boxes I created. Both are supposed to show fictional people's lives stamped into boxes with items they might've owned and a picture of them whited out. If you examine it, you may figure out pieces of Lillian's life.

This is one of my largest pieces to date. It's filled with Stream of Consciousness writing straight out of my own brain. The writing ranges from randoms thoughts to emotions I never would express out loud. It's a piece about thought in its purest form, unfiltered and entangled.

This piece was inspired by and for a former coworker of mine. She was one of the kindest souls and complex minds I've ever met. She fell ill, but recovered and it only made me admire her more. I have yet to give her this piece.

This was painted on a piece of driftwood shortly before a breakup. The background was representative of how I felt in this relationship with fragile items inked on top. The bells were added to create a delicate sound.

This piece was painted on a piece of plexiglass from my school during the pandemic. My idea was to take a piece of material from a dark time and fill it with items I enjoyed painting and would therefore bring me joy. The moss and leaves were added after its completion purely because I liked them as well.

The second piece in the "Lost Souls" shadow boxes, this one displays the life and death of a ficitonal cowboy. Like Lillian, you can discover relics of his life by piecing together his belongings.
