Personal Art

Just pieces I made for me.

"One time, I ate a man"

This piece I made in my senior year in the midst of one of my many watercolor phases. I came up with this color palette in my head and I knew I needed to draw something stupid to use it on. I loved this piece, but I ended up trading it to another student in the art program for a print of theirs. That print is still on my wall.

"Does this look too much like a Christian missionary pamphlet?"

Another piece inspired by a color palette. I wanted to do a little landscape on some leftover wood and it ended up a little more "holy" than I would've liked. I ended up trading this piece as well. In return I received a surrealist acrylic piece also still on my

wall.

"A Variety of Windows"

I painted this entire watercolor piece in a Waffle House I previously worked at. It was supposed to serve as a process piece for my AP portfolio, but I was advised not to use it. I did my signature move of writing nonsense phrases on it, shut my sketchbook, and haven't seen it since.

"A Variety of Windows"

"This is the pond grandpa fell in last Summer."

Yet another case of  "I want to paint an overly idyllic landscape and title it something stupid."

"Three Little Ladies"

"Three Little Ladies."

Oh boy, as of September 2022, this is my magnum opus. I adore my three pet rats more than life itself and so obviously, I had to paint them in a mystical tree looking into a forbiddingly bright light. Obviously.

(Side note: My mom liked this piece so much, it's now hanging in our living room despite my plans to put it in my own room.)
